Just me opinion - I don’t think the hospitals are picking up the tabs; likely they’ll increase the service charges towards the insured patients.

Really? This doesn't sound much like Texas, where our social safety net is small, stretched and badly frayed on purpose.

They should have plenty of money. They billed my insurance company $4,900 dollars for a covid nose swab. I didn't even go in the building. I was directed to the alley to wait in line. It felt more like a sketchy drug deal than healthcare.
