Adeleke also declared that the condition for strengthening democratic culture and enhancing the productive participation of the citizenry is resolving national economic challenges.
Adeleke noted: “A foundation we cannot leave out is the economic platform of a society practising democracy. A hungry citizenry is likely to pose a serious threat to a credible electoral democratic process. Identifying issues like strengthening democratic culture, he said, is important because it includes a fair electoral umpire and security agencies committed to the rule of law.
Governor Adeleke further said Nigeria must uphold certain basic democratic norms for citizens’ participation to yield the needed results.
