A vision-impaired woman from Adelaide says she lives in fear of losing her beloved guide dog Molly because of lengthy delays to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding in South Australia.

Desiree Colmenares from fellow provider, Guide Dogs SA-NT, said nationally, guide dog approvals were"doing okay".

South Australian Minister for Human Services Michelle Lensink said she was aware of the issue and it had already been raised. A spokesperson from the National Disability Insurance Agency said anyone eligible for the NDIS would receive support.

Seriously, why has nothing been done about the NDIS. It’s a bloody disgrace. Same goes for Centrelink. It seems none of the major political parties care one iota about what’s going on within these agencies. They are not working. They are traumatising the traumatised. Auspol

Why is the NDIS apparently so useless? It’s a great idea in theory so why is the implementation so awful? These stories are heartbreaking.
