While most of us want to show off our holiday abroad, you should think twice about posting pictures of your city breaks or sun holidays, according to experts

Now that the holiday season is officially upon us, many are jetting off to sunnier destinations. It's only natural that we want to share our escapades on social media, but we all need to think twice before posting.

People on extended trips away should also carefully read their policies to see how long they can leave the property unoccupied and still be covered by insurance.

They also say you should avoid posting upcoming travel plans in advance of the trip, and consider turning off the location sharing setting of your phone's camera app.
